The Great Dane is a domestic breed of dog distinguished by its large size. One of the world’s tallest dog breeds, the largest dog in the world is a Great Dane called George which measures a staggering 109cm from paw to shoulder and 220cm from head to tail!

Great Danes have been described by the American Kennel Association: "The Great Dane combines, in its regal appearance, dignity, strength and elegance with great size and a powerful, well-formed, smoothly muscled body. It is one of the giant working breeds, but is unique in that its general conformation must be so well balanced that it never appears clumsy, and shall move with a long reach and powerful drive." Such a big dog surely demands a big dog lounger!
Often referred to as the gentle giant, Great Danes have a very friendly nature. As is common with most big dogs, the Great Danes have a very slow metabolism which means less food consumption per pound of its weight compared to other dogs and less energy.
