Ed Miliband has recently defended his leadership of the Labour party asserting that he has a “very clear plan” for the coming years. This follows Labour peer Lord Glasman’s comments that the party had “no strategy, no narrative” and that it shows “no signs of winning the economic argument” when headed by Mr. Miliband. Miliband denied allegations of splits within the shadow cabinet concerning whether or not to accept coalition spending cuts. Miliband asserted that he relished being in opposition though he “always knew” being in opposition was “going to be a fight”.

Mr. Miliband told the Guardian newspaper that he recognised it would take some time to regain public faith in the ability of Labour to handle the economy. Labour is truly facing questions as to how the party is going to address the economy as the economy is at the forefront of people’s national concerns. Oh dear, maybe someone should send Ed Miliband some flower delivery Oxford to cheer him up?
